Can't remember the last time I went to a cinema.

I find films very self-indulgent, watching something that the cinematographer forces you to see through his direction of the camera.

If ever you have read a book then watched a film of the book, you'll probably understand what I mean.

Two on my list were films from books I had read previously (Gone Girl and Before I Go to Sleep)

They were quite good adaptations actually.

I do agree that films are usually inferior to the books....

I also try not to watch films on TV.....a difficult task when my wife hogs the remote.

I do agree that most books are better than their adaptations, but some work very well in my view.

Lord of the Rings works very well as a movie and omits certain parts of the book that, for me, affected its pacing (the Tom Bombadil interaction for example). Having said that, Tolkien's book are absolutely truly wonderful

Hey @Anonymous I've also watched your number 4 and 5 recently. I was blown away by the super cool special effects and cars in Transformers. Godzilla was great because... it's Godzilla - does that make sense?

Last week I watched Disney's Frozen and also How to Train Your Dragon 2. The latter was absolutely delightful, my favourite from this year. Have you guys seen this one?

I've just downloaded The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Extended from the Play Store. So that's 4 hours of my life I'll need to be free and uninterrupted.
