Thanks @Anonymous and my apologies for posting. This is what comes of taking a lead from those who want to mark all posts read without reading them! Forget I even mentioned it!!!

(By the way - regarding the Belfast Telegraph article, one has to wonder if someone who can sit for 18 hours with a mobile phone in his trouser pocket really needs a phone!!!)

Totally agree and this is one of the reasons I choose not to be an early adopter.

To be fair though in the 'bend' test that guys hand was shaking from the force he was putting into bending it.

Aluminium will bend under certain stress factors.

I don't think this would affect me as I either keep my phone in my shirt pocket ,or in a belt Holster.

Let's be fair chaps. Would O2 bend over backwards to be so flexible for their customers?

Probably because nobody had one in their back pocket for 18 hours.

Surely it's time to have those seemingly pointless warnings that we see on, for example, foodstuffs like "May contain nuts" on a packet of peanuts or "Contents may be hot" on a Costa coffee.

So should phones have warnings such as "Do not take into the WC with you" and "Do not keep in the back pocket of trousers"

Good thinking @Beenherebefore - and might add "Do not charge in microwave". Trouble is, users don't read warnings so these would have to be audio files set to play automatically on power up and at regular intervals during the day.

It's not greatly shocking that it bent, was putting a fair amount of force into it, i would imagine the easy solution if it is an issue put it in glass side against your leg so it's going against the curve of your leg as I imagine it won't bend so easy the other way,
