Easter Week 2025

Afternoon all 😁

As Easter is now only days away, it's time to plan for Easter Week 2025 on the O2 Community 🐣

This year Easter Week will run from Wednesday 16 April - Monday 21 April.

We will need some support from you the members to create some of the activities, as i won't be in over the weekend 😁

Below is the table of activities that are penciled in so far, please comment below if you'd like to get involved and include what you'd like to create and on which date 📆

I see there is a Brain Teaser next Monday. Although they scramble my brain. I'll give it a go. 😂

Anyone watching WWE Wrestle Mania 41 on Netflix Easter weekend?

I won't be staying up to watch it live, I'll watch it on demand after.

@Anonymous I watched WWE when stone cold steve austin, the rock & the undertaker were in their prime, however i no longer watch the wrestling, even though i am currently watching the Vince McMahon series on Netflix.

Wrestling was on World of Sport at 4.00pm on a Saturday afternoon in the 1970s.

Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks et al. Venues were really salubrious places such as Wolverhampton Town Hall. 👍

I once went watching the Royal brothers : Bert and Vic Faulkner

They were from Bolton and the venue was the Wryton Stadium in Bolton which was little more than a converted cinema

They were wrestling Mick McManus and Les Kellet - Tag teams

Three rounds in those days. Lots of women screaming and all obviously fake

This was on a Wednesday night and believe it or not the exact same match was live on World of Sport on Saturday afternoon

Same moves, same fake playing to the crowd and same result - it was like watching an action replay and they must have been doing the circuits along with the same matches of other wrestlers.

I never watched wrestling again although my wife and mother in law went weekly

Just noticed this discussion about wrestling.

The 'Golden Age Of Wrestling' between the 50's -70's was very big in our house.

My Mum would never miss it. It was on Saturday Grandstand on BBC TV and featured the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Jacky Pallo, Adrian Street and Kendo Nagasaki.(master of the wrestling move called the Kamikazi Crash.

I could never understand why wrestling was so loved by women.

My Mum would cook our Saturday lunch early so she never missed a match. I've never seen her so immersed in anything like this. Sitting in her chair, yelling and screaming for her favourite of the day.

Dad and I told her constantly it was fake. She would have none of it. I remember once after a big argument about it, she didn't speak to me and Dad for about 4 days.

On the Sunday when Dad and I were watching F1, she said 'Now THIS is Fake, always the same few winners'

We learnt to keep quiet after that and let her go on believing wrestling was the greatest sport ever invented. 😂

She always found something to do when F1 was on...🤣

Bit late to the party as been away.

Unfortunately I'm busy tomorrow as well - Arsenal Women are playing the first leg of the Champion's League semi-final against Lyon (managed by former boss Joe Montemurro). Fingers crossed they can go one better than 2 years ago!

For the benefit of wrestling fans, the first night of this year's Wrestle Mania's on tonight if you can stay up long enough.

Main event on the first night will be the 3 way: CM Punk versus Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns apparently, and if Punk loses, he'll probably throw a hissy fit, and HHH will be obliged to fire him.

Easter jokes.

A man goes to a Jeweller and asks "I want a Gold Statue of my Dog", Jeweller asks "Does tha want it 18 Carat?", man replies "No I want it chewin' a Bone!"

I guess you'd have to understand Yorkshire accents to get the joke.
