Fruits of the Forest Summer 2022
Summer arriving quietly but then so hot. This summer the fruit trees blossom was good the earliest Nectarine and Peaches. Apples Pears Plums and in the Greenhouse Black Hamburgh Grape a piece bought from the Hampton Court Vine, the Fig Tree is full this year and the figs are ripening at the moment. I have a grape outside for the Blackbirds called Brant.

My Red Mason bees worked away until end of June and thankfully the weather was quite good. Many nests were built and they are now growing inside their tubes and cells where their mother left them pollen and nectar. They will emerge next Spring to pollinate the fruit trees. Guessing around 1000 bees this year too.

The Foxes visit every evening and they seem to have had two fox cubs and they look scrawny but good.

The Birds all nested well and the usual nesting box on the Pine Tree was used again by the Nuthatch all birds got away well. They make very good home makers.

We had lots of Robins, Blackbirds, Dunnocks, Wrens, Tree Creepers and woodpeckers.
July was blisteringly hot and every evening I had to keep filled, several bowls of water for the birds, foxes and hedgehogs to drink from. They were drying up during the day.

My Forest is very very busy at night the Owls pop in - and of course hundreds of moths. Every moth you can think of. There is a moth for everything believe me.

Some Fruits that have now ripened

This is just a "snap shot" of my Forest Garden in which I and all the creatures great and small enjoy. I would rather they didn't enjoy my plums though before I get to them!

This garden is amazing @TallTrees! That grumpy bee looks just like the one in my pumpkin flower this morning when I splashed it with water. Oops.

Just beautiful @TallTrees. I have seen parts of your garden from previous pictures you have shown. I doubt anyone will have a garden as large as yours. It obviously takes hours of work with your bees, fruits from your forest, feeding the foxes and other wildife.

I live on a housing estate built in 1969 so the garden would have no room for everything you have.

I love hearing about your garden too. I know you love your garden, summer pots and 💐. The only way I can give an idea of the work in this garden is that I am sometimes practically sleeping standing up, as some work has to be done, however tired I feel. 😫

I love the birds, they are very important to me to see them do well.

Those little foxes are so funny.

It`s great to see it`s a habitat for wildlife.

Years ago, when I lived in another part of the West Mids, I used to have a vixen bring her cub into my garden, so your photos brought back happy memories. Thank you.
