White Room Quiz Mon 18 July 2022 - Odd Questions A-Z pt 1

Welcome to

There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.

Today`s White Room Quiz is the first of a three-part Odd Questions A-Z quiz

Instead of 8 questions - with two questions on each of four of the usual categories, there will be 8 questions

but one question on each of 8 subjects - with each subject based on a letter of the alphabet

A Antiques; B Badges; C Currency; D Dimensions; E Extinction; F Flags; G Gold; H Highway Code.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

Those wishing to take part must pm me - @Mi-Amigo - their answers between 12 noon today [Monday] and 11.59pm tomorrow [Tuesday].

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

Q5 E - EXTINCTION The Great Auk became extinct in the 1840s. What kind of creature was a Great Auk ?

Q6 F - FLAGS Which country`s flag features a trident ?

Q7 G - GOLD How many karats are there in pure gold ?

Q8 H - HIGHWAY CODE What is the max speed allowed for powered wheelchairs and disability scooters ?

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

Those who want to take part must send a pm [private message] to me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Mon 18 July 2022] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 19 July 2022] - allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

The answers - and results for each player taking part - will be posted on morning of Wed 20 July 2022

Each member will be awarded for each correct answer. In addition, Thinkers will be awarded as follows

THE RULES

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Mon 18 July 2022] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 19 July 2022].

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Tues 19 July 2022 will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz.

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

Posting my thoughts on the Hottest day (but not unheard of)

Having been up since 6am to tend my plants in pots, put water out for the birds.

Looking at the questions ~ I may get some of these and if my brain isn't scrambled by lunch

Hi @Mi-Amigo my PMs have been sent through. A lovely choice of questions. Some there I know, others I probably should know and have had to really think hard to pull out the answers from my head and at least a couple that I have had to guess the answer.

Thanks Mi-Amigo, I will be entering for sure but unfortunately not expecting a high return.

The questions are great and I feel like I should know more so give me some thinking time and I’ll pm my answers to you when I wake up. I’m especially annoyed I can’t quickly remember the currency or flag off the top of my head.
