Problem with emails from Forum

Morning,

I just wanted to ask others if they have experienced problems receiving email notifications from this forum?

(I did think of posting this in the BT Yahoo mail thread, but personally I am not convinced my problem IS

anything to do with that)

My emails come in via BTinternet and BT yahoo mail.

I subscribe on this forum, to receiving notifications when someone replies to a topic I am following.

Yesterday I made a number of posts and from 16.47pm I received NOTHING from this forum.

I say nothing...but I did get PM's immediately...which was confusing to say the least

Emails from other people and forums continued to arrive into my inbox on time. (hence my rationale

that it is an O2 forum problem and nothing to do with my server or internet provider)

This morning? 45 emails into my inbox...ALL from O2 forum and ALL out of sequence

So this is annoying. I am not constantly on the forum.I occasionally log on...however if someone replies

to a thread I am following, once I get the email, I log on to reply if needed.

So, a bit of a straw poll really ...to ask if anyone.else is experiencing this problem?

NB. I know of one member who experienced this yesterday. (though for me this has happened before)

Update from me.... after the flood of emails this morning (from yesterdays posts)

It appears to be happening again. No new notification emails arrived this morning...and i should have had

three?

Emails continue to come to my inbox from other sources.

Hi @Cleoriff

I'm getting the same sort of thing too. I use Bt yahoo which are being moved to Bt mail so I thought it may have been that causing the issue not the forum software itself.

I too do not receive emails for PMs any longer. I have always had notifications for post replies turned off but during the last month or so PM emails have stopped whereas previously they worked independently. It can be hours before I realise I have a PM, especially so since the envelope at the top of the forum no longer flashes.

Hi guys,

I'll take a look under the forum's hood (I'm not entirely sure if car metaphors are a fitting way to describe the forum but there you go) and see if any settings may be stopping this from happening. If you could please update me on when/if you receive PM/reply emails that would be great.

Just to report that I did get an email notification of a PM yesterday, but notification of eg replies to posts seem to have dried up even though i would have expected to receive a few.

I've turned the PM email notification system on and off again. I'll send all involved a test PM now. Do let me know if and when you receive an email if its possible.

To clarify,

I AM getting PM notification emails.

I am NOT getting notification emails about topics I am following

I am NOT getting any @mention emails.

Chiara said last night that the forum via Lithium was undergoing some updates and wondered if this

could be the cause?

Emails from all other sources continue to come in on time.

Thanks @Toby - got the TEST PM, but like @Cleoriff I am not getting the email notifications about threads I follow. I used to get the notifications regularly.

I have received the Test PM... but no email to say it was here...(which is a change for me from yesterday..)

As they were the only emails from here I did receive (ie from PM's)

I've not had problems with Pm's either.

Just late emails or batches of e mails letting me know someone has left a post or mentioned me.

It's weird because at some points they come through as soon as they hit my server and then at others I'll get several at once. 😞

I agree this acts as a great tool to keep up on your posts.

I'm getting the odd e mail through @Cleoriff

The powers that be are aware so fingers crossed this will be remedied ASAP.

And just to update @Toby I have JUST received 2 email notifications from the 2 PMs you sent me...

I am off out now, and as its me... I dont 'do' emails on my phone If I can help it

All I can hope is that the problem is rectified asap.

I am not a forum trawler (I mean that in the nicest way) I rely on getting emails for notifications.

If you like, they are my lifeline to this place ...:smileywink:

I checked with Lithium and we haven't had any updates. Any more people having this issue?
