Just heard the sad news that a close friend, Sabine Schmitz, has died.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and has battled it since.

RIP Sabine, "The Queen of the Nurburgring" you will be missed immensely

She was amazing @Clare45 and a huge inspiration to many, especially young girls starting out in motor racing.

I can't believe we won't see her again at Women in motorsport events and at Nurbugring.

I remember her being on the Top Gear TV show, very talented race driver - RIP.

Sad news. A brilliant and talented racing driver.

I too remember her on BBC Top Gear.
