Strictly Come Dancing 2019

A little early to start this thread, although the new judge to replace Darcey Bussell has been announced

It's Motsi Mabuse (sister of Oti Mabusi)

Motsi Mabuse, elder sister of Strictly Come Dancing star Oti, has been named as Dame Darcey Bussell's replacement on the BBC One show's judging panel.

Originally from South Africa, Motsi is a former South African champion and German Latin champion and a judge on Strictly Come Dancing's German version.

Mabuse, 38, said she was "absolutely overjoyed" to be joining the panel and hoped to "add her own bit of sparkle".

I don't doubt her credentials at all but can't help wondering how this will work as Oti is still appearing on the show?

Yes, will be very tricky @Cleoriff, particularly if she gives honest criticism of her sister. And don't they look very much alike.

I'd never heard of Oti before Strictly but she's now my favourite dancer. Curious to see what her sister will be like as a judge. Can't wait for the new season to start, one because I love the show and, two, hopefully it'll be cooler by then. Also interested to see what 'stars' they have this time round. Hopefully some I actually know, would make a nice change.

Well from what it said, Motsi won't be giving her sister Oti any special treatment, ooh no!!

In fact, sounds like she may go all the other way and mark her down, just to prove she's even handed!

@jonsie Oti has danced with Jonnie Peacock, Graham Swann and was runner up with Danny Mac

Rumour has it that the first three contestants for SCD will be announced on the One Show tomorrow night.

I thought so but it was posted on the FB SCD site. So wait and see scenario?

Nothing on the BBC SCD site, so maybe just a rumour....

Well let's see what happens but I suspect a rumour as it's only the end of July and they don't normally announce this early.

Iain Lee who was on Good Morning Britain, has let the cat out of the bag. He said "Apparently they are are announcing the first three contestants on the One Show tonight..they are Anneka Rice, Sam Allardyce and Jamie Laing"
