PAC Generator

Just tried to get my PAC code to switch mobile providers. I tried the online chat and all seemed good.
Was told they could get it for me and was asked why I am switching following my answer was informed that they couldn't get the PAC code and had to ring customer support.

So I persevered however on the phone I was told the service o2 use to generate PAC code was down. Does this happen often?
I was told to ring the following day but was hoping to get it today should I try again this afternoon as I have no idea how long these things take to fix.

You are best to call CS anyway.
You should get the code immediately.

We are customers here, so we wouldn't know how long it might take. Call CS again later. Worth a try. Don't use Live Chat.

Yeah I just wondered if anyone had experienced it and therefore had a rough guess how long
