free o2 to o2 text? and free £50 topup???

hi guys.. one of my mates just sent me a txt msg.. saying that...

"o2 are keeping o2 to o2 texts free forever so tell all your friends. send this msg to 20 of your friends and receive a £50 top up for spreading the word. this credit will be sent to you within 2minutes of your last sent text"

has anyone else got this text and does it actually work.. or is it some scam coz i find it quite hard to believe :robotsurprised: lol..

Been asked before, and yes it's a scam...

Worth whoever sent it to you checking as well that it's coming FROM a "normal" number and not from a 5 or 6 digit short code or you could be in for shock when you get the phone bill

Deffinately a scam, if you read it, it reads 02 to 02 not O2 to O2

i had just recieved my 10% back from o2, it worked out about 3 quid. gets that text about an hour later an then all my credit wasted....
i'd love to know how they make it so offical looking? is this someone who works for o2...?

Its not remotely official looking, its even got spelling mistakes.

A good rule of thumb is that if they want you to tell others, ignore it.
