Til recently if i called 4445 with a query/problem I got knowledgable UK call centre operatives. In the last 2 days twice I've had Durban call centre staff in South Africa who couldn't answer pretty basic questions about my contract switching over to SIM only imminently when my existing contract ends. In answer to one quite specific question they said 'I would think so....' - not the answer I'm looking for. Black mark O2.

If you get through to an outsourced call centre then ask them to transfer you through to a UK call centre. They will do it for you if you aren't happy with their advice.

On the two previous occasions I have spoken to the South Africa call centre without a problem.

English is good, invariably with an accent but I wouldn't denounce that in the same way none of us would have a problem speaking to people from Ireland , Scotland, England and Wales.

It's the written word, translated it seems from Google where problems occur.
