A fantastic O2 service.

However it's not for me.

Having thousands of music tracks on my iPhone and iPod touch is enough for me.

Hey Scottgib, it does have bespoke content and playlists as well as exclusive album content, in the last 12 months we've had the likes of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pharrell and of course Kylie in tracks with their albums 1 week prior to release. It does have new playlists regularly too.

I tried it but it wasn't for me - the music was too current! I've got my entire CD and download collection on my iPod so I tend to use that. Unfortunately stupid Ford Sync says I've got too many tracks on it!

Tried it when it first came out but it no longer works on my Z10 since the 10.2.1 OS update so uninstalled in favour of Spotify.

Have it on my Note 2 though just to dip into now and then.

Is it correct that you only get 4 weeks free now instead of the year?

Must admit I prefer Spotify, it's free in exchange of a few adverts and I can listen to what I want. I often only like a small handful of songs in the charts at any one time. I can see it appealing with the teenage audience though.

The other thing that puts me off us that after paying a subscription fee then if you want to retain the song you have to purchase it. 😞

My current most listened to tracks are :

The Marshall Mathers Album : The Monster.

The Marshall Mathers Album : So Far.

Passenger Album : Let her go & Patient Love.

Katy Perry : Roar.

Pharrell Williams : Happy.

Pitbull feat Ke$ha : Timber.

All keep me toe tapping whilst commuting.

I have to say I find all the music a bit too modern as well and there's not really much choice apart from the modern ones

After having created the guide I have a quick look a the app, and to be honest I was underwhelmed.

Users are restricted to whatever tracks are available within the app...and are charged for the privilege. As someone mentioned above, if a track is removed from the app then we then also have to pay to purchase the song elsewhere.

There is no search capability through which we are able to find songs that arent immediately available in the app.

Ultimately for the number of songs available to users, after the free trial, the app is expensive compared to a premium membership on Spotify that is also advert free.

Like others, I will have to continue to use my premium membership on Spotify. The idea behind O2 Tracks is good (the latest songs on your device instantly and cheaper than buying them individually), but it doesn't provide enough tracks for customers who are used to having hundreds or thousands of songs available at their fingertips.

TBH my music taste is eclectic. Some of the bands I listen to these days are on the fringe of popular music. I did have a look although this O2 Tracks is concentrically aimed at people in their teens and early 20's. And I don't think I would fall into that gap anymore.

My jukebox would suit the opera goers to the death metal satanists amongst us all.
