So.. where's the Samsung i7500?

I knew I shouldn't of got excited, the rumours were that the samsung i7500 would be avaliable today on 02 ... but nothing on the website.

How much longer do I have to wait? I will be strong and not crumble and buy a G1.

Has anyone heard anymore from 02 about when it will be availiable?

But anyway, being serious, it's due next week - the 4th apparently. Keep an eye on these forums as there's a couple of threads about it. I'm like you and awaiting this. If I remember I'll post on here as I'm planning on getting it the second it's out! I've been able to upgrade for about five weeks and have been hanging on. Knowing my luck it'll come out then will be out of stock when I try and get it!

I feel like i've been waiting since Xmas for the samsung to come out.

I've had my heart sent on an android phone since the G1 came out but I never liked that handset. Then the rumours that samsung were throwing their hat in the ring got me excited. One thing samsung can do right is make really good looking and functional handsets combine that with the Android OS and its going to be a killer phone.

My contract has been up since May but i've held out so I can get this phone... why are they making us wait so long?

So.. where's the Samsung i7500?

I think it's probably Samsungs fault. Was due mid-June in Germany first of all but seemed to be delayed a couple of weeks. It is essentially a brand new handset so I guess production is still ramping up. I'm looking forward to it!!

I think the thing i most looking forward to is being able to use the phone on my long commute to work and back each day.

Streaming radio, youtube, internet will make it fly by. The first thing im going to buy is a 16Gb microSD card ... im fully intending to replace my 5th gen ipod with this phone.

By all accounts there have been some delays getting everything working nicely on the Galaxy. Next week sounds optimistic to me, but you never know. And yes, this has to be one of the most eagerly anticipated Android handsets so far!

Another here waiting 'patiently', contract up and trying not to get tempted and go elsewhere.

o2 really should monitor the goings on in the world though and get 'on it' a little more.
They must have some idea on when it'll happen, yet they seem to think playing dumb and being quiet is the best option, which is just ridiculous.

I be Orange have sold shedloads of HTC Heros and gained lots of new contracts by simply putting the phone up initially as 'coming soon'.

Why be all mysterious about it?!!

yea it is a bit weird.. the only reason anyone knows its coming to 02 is become some eagle eye spotted it in their summer catalogue they haven't announced it at all.

Where as the plam-pre has been on the home page for a few weeks now and thats not coming untill near Xmas.

This lack of information has been a real frustration.

My old provider, Vodafone, are just as bad. Their "Coming soon" page is pants.

Look at it this way: unlike VF, at least o2 actually *have* decent stuff coming soon!

Im not sure about software problems .. the phone has been out in Germany on 02 for a few months and now its out in france and Italy which seems to indicate the phone is and has been ready for release for some time.

Well, not months :)

O2 DE started supplying the Galaxy at the end of June. It looks like they had a month's exclusivity on the device, so the review handsets from Samsung were incomplete.

In my paranoid mind i don't want to tell 02 how much i'd pay for one... but im expecting to pay around £150 on an 18month contract with unlimited data allowance.

I'd be shocked and a little disapointed in them if it cost more and offered less minutes/texts than the iphone.

Their lack of fan fare about it might indicate they don't hold much confidence in the Android OS and just want to test the water - so it could be come out at a cheaper price than i think.

Don't quote me on this but I think its being offered PAYG on mainland Europe for around 499 euros.

Also which is quite interesting no one knows if this will be exclusive to 02. I was suprised that Tmobile went for another HTC model and didn't snap this up - they are the Android lead supplier but dropped the ball on this one. So much so that im actucally switching back to 02 after being with Tmobile for a number of years.

I think im getting a little obssesed with it.

I've just spent 5 mins trying out random 02 web address in my borwser bar to see if they have uploaded the page for the i7500 but haven't linked it yet.
i.e

But no luck.. maybe you can think of some addresses. If i remember rightly this is how the i7500 was originally leaked .. a russian phone supplier had uploaded the web page waiting for the phone to go live but had no linked the page to anything.

It had better not be August 10th!

I seriously dont get why they cant just tell us the release date. I have heard from online support that it will be out August 4th, however repeat phone calls to O2 customer services are always met with "its not on our computers" so i'm really not sure what to believe.

If its not out on the 4th i'm getting the HTC Hero - even though i dont really want it
