3g900 can now be seen in status / coverage checker

You can check if 3g900 is in your area now using http://status.o2.co.uk
or the coverage checker http://www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker using your handset type

in the coverage checker if you swap between 3g and 3g900 on the toggle if not selected a handset you can see if you have it or not as in areas with it there are less gaps when you swap between

The coverage maps now also include O2 mast locations and WiFi hotspots too (just tick the relevant boxes underneath the coverage maps)

Masts wifi since last major update as long as silverlight installed about 6 months ago

Thanks Adam, must be a Apple Safari fix then as never seen masts/WiFi before today.
Interesting that O2 are now showing 3G900 coverage not very far from me (BB9 area of Lancashire), lets hope it continues to work it way towards me

O2 coverage checker is showing 3g900 in Grantham where I live but when I check in Engineering mode on my iPhone 4s it's still 3g2100. Don't believe the coverage checker!

As I said earlier O2 still show old 3G coverage in 3g900 you need to toggle between 3G 900 and 3G and see if the coverage area grows that will indicate 3g900 is enabled

I have noticed that in Wakefield as well... Maybe it is in process of rollout and that is predicted coverage shortly ? Abs @ O2 can you advise ???

There is no u900 in grantham... if you toggle between 3g and 3g900 - its the same

If you zoom out a bit you can see extra areas of outdoor coverage but indoor remains the same. I'm just curious as to why they claim 3g900 is on in Grantham when it's not?

In morpeth (NE61) I live with Edge or Gprs depending on which tower I am connected to. According to the new coverage checker, I should be able to get 3G900 outdoors, but I can't. So either the coverage checker is incorrect, or it has not yet been 'switched on' in this area!

falkirk81 that is very weak outdoor and very patchy I would say not useable looking at that prediction

Yes it doesn't look good. Shame as I get full signal from the 2 nearby towers, just they are obviously not being upgraded.
Any ideas when this upgrade will take place?

Finally spoken to o2 network services in Glasgow. According to their internal coverage maps and cell site specs, NONE of Grantham is 3G900 enabled! They did assure me it is coming soon. So that just proves that www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker is telling porkie pies!
