It's because you cannot upgrade from 30 day sim only to a contract until you have completed 6 months. The reason for this is that the credit check for the 30 day plan is far less stringent than it would be for a full contract so they reckon they can trust you after 6 bills.

There are some areas where human judgement and common sense are not allowed I'm afraid and this one of them. The thing that stopped them giving you an upgrade they would have loved to give you (cos they get paid for it) is an automatic block on the account, it will remove itself exactly 6 months after the account was first set up, that's why they gave you the date you can upgrade to a full contract. It's the same with people who want to upgrade early within a contract, computer says no.

The only problem there is that there may be a possibility of failing the credit check, or with it coming back asking for a sizeable deposit ( between £100 to £250) that you then get back after 4 bills. Of course if your credit is mint then that doesn't apply. At least on your due date you would face none of this and it's a simple upgrade.

Ok two questions:
Have you tried getting your BB fixed?
Have you thought of buying one on a well know auction site (Cant say name mods may cry) or buy one on O2 PAYG bang your sim in it and use it, cheaper than geting into a long contract

your line has to be active for 6 mnths dependant on credit check also if u change or port a number from another network the 6 months start from date the number becomes active on the o2 network not the date the contract was taken out
