Spamhaus preventing sending of emails on O2 mobile

I see from the forum that this has occurred in the past, quite a few years ago, but I'm getting it on mine and my wife's O2 accounts.

The message lately is to the effect that Spamhaus has blocked 82.132.246.232 listed by XBL. I'm sure there were other IP address previously. Doesn't affect us when connected via wi-fi, but almost 100% blocking when connected by a mobile signal.

TBH it's rendered our phones almost unusable when away from home. If there's no solution I'm going to move provider.

Reach out, and be persistent, to O2's Social Media Team using either of the 2 links just below, @Tens - nobody here can access your account. Also note may be a factor.

In a couple of minutes they seem to have solved something that's been bugging me for weeks. Reset bluetooth / mobile network / wifi settings in System. Kudos to O2 on FB messenger.

I have had this problem for months usually about three times per week. Rebooting my 4G router usually works for a few hours then problem starts again. seriously considering trying another service provider also will see if using a VPN works.

UPDATE

This morning my emails were blocked again with Spamhaus IP blocked. So I found a trial VPN site and downloaded the software and used it to send the blocked mails without any problems so I have had enough of O2 re issuing blocked IP addresses on my 4 devices and will subscribe small money to the VPN service.

Your IP address is an internal one, and it is the externally facing IP that is been blocked by Spamhaus, due to other customers using o2 as an open relay to send spam emails, and been marked as such by people who receive them.

What does Talos say or Trend Reputation ??

o2 do not give you an individual IP address for egress you share it, and no mobile network wll give you a static IP, they all use CGNAT so as I said a shared external IP Address.

I would seriously recommend if running your own mail server and to prevent this happening looking to host it off a Mobile network and in something like Linode etc or a shared server environment.. or a proper ISP that gives up a static IP, if you are insistent on using mobile with a static IP then look at AAISP

Would also be good to know what IP is being blocked by Spamhaus, can you provide this??

Here is this morning's block

Client host [82.132.213.73] blocked using xbl.spamhaus.org mornings block

I live in a very rural area with no broadband services so I use a 4G router which works just fine. Using a VPN lets mail through all time

HI @pafos

This is why I hate in a professional capacity Spamhaus as its a ***** show at times, so they have blocked that IP as its part of a proxy which it technically is..

This affects large enterprise as well with there internet breakouts, so hence they have large IPv4 netblocks for services.

The only viable option is a VPN such as NordVPN (others are available) CG/NAT

Since our oh so wonderful (he says in jest) government announced the Online Safety Act UK last week, VPN usage has increased dramatically anyway, all so that underage kids can view P*rn and other inappropriate stuff.
