How cone everytime i report a poor signal i just get a ‘nothing wrong with network’ response. O2 used to be one of the best for coverage but it is now so terrible i am considering leaving. I don’t mean random remote areas. I am talking big towns. I live in Stockport and commute to Crewe. On the journey i used to have decent data, now i fail to maintain a call. Around crewe train station i have 4G four bars and cannot play videos of any nature. If i take the time and trouble to report that the network is ‘always like this’ then surely i am not reporting a fault but i am reporting a capacity issue with the network that requires dealing with. I guess it is only going to get worse when 3G gets turned off, not that 3G even allows to send a text these days. Come on O2, get your act together because your service is awful.

The network is oversubscribed and will not improve. Get Pay & Go sims from the other networks to see which one is better for you, if any, before you jump ship.

Then: Cancelling your contract - An updated guide - O2 Community

If looking for another network be aware the Vodafone and Three have now joined forces.

They have promised that customers of either network should be able to roam automatically between the two in 6 months

However, I've no doubt following that there will be a rationalisation of the sites so things will change.

Best if using them to not take on a long term contract

This is quite useful @Jaz50 :-

My Network App - Find Out More About Your Network Coverage | Apps | O2

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

Understand your network coverage

With the My Network app you can keep an eye on your coverage, wherever you are. Download the app and you’ll be able to:

- check the status of our network in your area – you don’t even need to enter your postcode

- test your network speeds

- report any issues with your service.

It’s simple to use and means that you can check the network without having to visit the main site or even enter a postcode.

If both you @Anonymous and your father are R Allen, is it not understandable that any call centre would want to verify the identity of a caller before proceeding ?

Meh, the majority of non UK call centres don't understand English in general IMO.

I can just about cope with the Scottish folk at Sky, although at the moment, Scotland's still part of the UK even though the SNP's been getting its Kilt in a bunch for years about devolution.
