Windows 10 Not Supported ?

I use Windows 10 and am happy with doing so.

I have heard it is not going to be ... or ... perhaps already is = Not Supported anymore ?

What do I need to do please ?

My pc is Acer Aspire.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just means there will be no more security updates. There is a paid scheme to extend the life of the updates, but probably not worth it.

If you can't update to Windows 11 I would keep on using it. It's unlikely you would have problems and there are people out there with far older versions

14th October 2025 is when Consumer versions of Windows 10 will become EOL, you can still use it but if you dont pay MS you will get no more updates, fixes etc.. And MS will no longer support Office etc on it either..

Windows 10 Home and Pro end-of-life is October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates, technical assistance, or security fixes for these versions. However, Microsoft offers the Extended Security Update (ESU) program, allowing users to purchase additional security updates for a fee.

I'd like to upgrade to Windows 11. I don't want to buy a new pc with Windows 11 installed.

Are you able to say how I go about upgrading please ?

I think the first thing to do is check your Aspire is compatible

I shall need my dear dad's magnifying glass to enable me to imput the long number ... = ... it's just me ... like other things say the long number regarding setting up an electronic file / response to my GP centre's communications.

I have not slept so a Job to Do when feeling more confident / sparkly

I have no wi-fi in my home due to long number needing to be imput onto laptop

Maybe both jobs for a former Mobile Electronics Company which has moved premises, but not too far away.

In some cases @Enlli, paying the £23-ish to extend support for a year might well be worthwhile. One of my laptops is a six-years old Dell that does everything that I want it to but just falls short of the minimum requirements for Windows 11.

I am not prepared to use it without security updates and £23-ish to extend its life for a year seems quite reasonable. 👍

Bear in mind that is the expected cost, and you cant even sign up to it yet and it might not happen

Not sure why anyone is happy using a 10 year Old OS, and even 22H2 is 3 years old.. either install Linux or move to Windows 11....

Yep. Plenty of good Linux Distributions. However, even the best can be a steep learning curve if you have come up on nothing but Windows

I have put a note in my mobile phone say mid September to indicate forthcoming mid October 2025 Windows 10 no longer supported & then upgrade to windows 11

According to footage on YouTube, Windows 12's out this year, so eventually they'll phase out support for 11.
