Samsung S23fe wifi problem solved

I think I have solved or rather worked around the problem with the wifi dropping out when on my home network. This has been happening multiple times a day since I got the phone last year and no amount of resets and fiddling cured it, until now....

I logged into my router (which is Vodafone broadband) and went to wifi settings, I then changed the 2.4ghz b.g.n to 2.4ghz b.g, dropping the n.

This phone has never been so quick and trouble free since I did this, with absolutely no problems.

Previously i was restarting the phone multiple times a day because of the issue but I'm happy now.

FYI, @Aubster - this is what the different letters mean, at 2.4GHz and 5GHz:

Protocol - Frequency - Data Rate, Indoor range
IEEE 802.11b - 2.4GHz - 1Mbps to 11Mbps,, 35m(115ft)
IEEE 802.11g - 2.4GHz - 6Mbps to 54Mbps, 38m(125ft)
IEEE 802.11n - 2.4GHz - 7Mbps to 72Mbps, 70m(230ft)
IEEE 802.11n - 5.0GHz - 15Mbps to 150Mbps, 70m(230ft)

Thanks pgn, looking at the indoor range for 802.11n 2.4ghz, I must have been having real problems as mine was dropping while sitting right in front of the router let alone 70mtrs. Mind you, I confess I'm way behind with tech being of the older generation

There is a bigger problem with 2.4Ghz in that it is the most congested band, as it also supports Bluetooth, Baby Monitors, Home Security Systems , and IOT Devices and more...

My advice when asked about stuff like this is buy a new router and one that support WiFi 6 as well as 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz
