Unimited Data Restrictions

Hi everyone,

I'm considering using O2's unlimited mobile broadband as my primary internet connection since my new home only has ADSL, which isn't fast enough for my needs. I plan to use a Netgear Nighthawk router with an O2 SIM, but I'm concerned about the 650GB fair use policy.

My typical household usage on fibre broadband is around 2-3TB per month, all for personal use (streaming, gaming, cloud backups, etc.). I understand that O2's fair use policy isn’t necessarily about total data usage but rather network impact, but I want to be sure I won’t experience speed restrictions or throttling.

Has anyone here regularly used more than 650GB on O2’s mobile broadband? Did you face any slowdowns, warnings, or caps? Any official clarification from O2 would also be great!

Using that amount on a regular basis will guarantee you get hit with restrictions.

If you look on reddit and other more technical communities you will find people who have been hit by throttling of speeds and been warned of disconnection, and no network offers true unlimited mobile data..

The largest I know of is a Three eSim with 1TB of usage or have a look at the Tesco Mobile Unlimited data sim which offers true unlimited, but it has to be used on a phone and they will notice it been used in a router
