I suspect they will do the least possible network wise. Need to look profitable before selling off to some Hedge Fund

The agreement is only for certain tariffs not to rise. Quote "and to cap certain mobile tariffs for three years."

Which tariffs? and three years bringing two companies together is not long, just look at VMO2!

What happens after the three years...I think I can guess

A merger between two large telecommunication networks is, without a shred of doubt, bound to produce redundancies. Why, for example, do we not have access to the O2 online advisors any longer? They were such a major help to both the community regulars and customers posting issues, and VMO2 disappeared them. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

During the three years @Enlli, smokescreens and mirrors will likely see payments - if not tariffs - rise. For example, Three have some fairly cheap tariffs with unlimited data. I can well see VF discontinuing these and moving customers onto tariffs that are the same price but with fair use clauses, effectively restricting data to say 650Gb per month.

You have said that the "....agreement is only for certain tariffs not to rise" but do we have any more detail on this undertaking ?
