Sim from Android to Iphone?

Hi - I put my Samsung into the washing machine sadly. Went into 02 who said SIM card still working though contacts not stored on it. I still have an amount outstanding on Contract. Friend offered an old iphone to use. Can I just transfer SIM card into the old iphone and use? Assume contract & monthly payment still carry on as normal? Do 02 need to know I no longer have the physical Samsung but changed to Iphone?

Sim will work fine and O2 dont care what you use but you will need O2 to add iData to your contract.
