Gone through it again, the only option available to me in my area is the free one.

I been doing some research on the zip code I sent it too, it seems its just storage warehouses.

I have no way of telling if its there though, Apple hadn't got a clue when I called them.

My iPhone had a crack appear at the bottom of the case on the back, so I took it to carphone warehouse to see what they said about it. They said my best bet was too send it to apple as it was a common problem.

So apple sent me the box for repair and I put the phone in and sent it off. This was last Tuesday and they have still not received it they say, anybody any ideas where I stand with this as it's clearly not been lost by me, as apple sent me the box for repair, to send it off.

thanks

Well the courier is Royal mail, Apple sent me box as First class prepaid to send it in. So it really has nothing to do with me how I see it.

It could just be that it is in the warehouse and they haven't looked at it yet. I know with o2, it takes around 5 working days for a handset to appear as returned. Sometimes longer.

Surely, you just need to show Apple the proof of posting and you will be ok?

I thought apple used courier?

I Take it you did not use the advance replacement service. (where they send by courier the replacement you then box it up and call the courier company to collect and return costs about £30.00 but secure)

How far is your nearest apple store. As that is the recomended route for all apple repairs

If you sent first class it is only insured for something like 30-40 pounds.

This has been discussed in relation to returning to o2 as well, best to get propf of posting or paying the small ammount to send recorded or the £5 or so for special delivery (it is a £500 bit of kit)

I didnt see any other option for repair, was just one.

I do have proof of posting.

There was never an option for advanced repair or anything when I did it.

Normally, when requesting mail-in service, you must first send your iPhone to Apple before receiving a replacement. With ARS, Apple will ship you a replacement iPhone as soon as you request it, then you send your original phone to Apple. The replacement iPhone will be new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.
