I have poor signal on my phone in the house - foil backed plasterboard, k-glass, properly insulated home! Vodafone have introduced a booster which runs from the broadband in the house. Would this work for o2 or will I have to change phone provider? I am aware that I can purchase a repeater with outdoor aerial but do not want to have the expense of having this installed. The vodafone booster is only £50 one off charge. it seems such a simple solution to the problem.

Won't work on O2 as you have to register the mobile number with Vodafone when setting it up.

O2 decided against these due to the many technical problems.

In the uk only the approved vodafone type sure signal units are allowed as they use your broadband.

Any other amplified antenna based system breaches the wireless telegraphy act.(big fines) It is not illegal to sell them but it is to use them.
