I just signed up to pay monthly with o2 and asked them send the bill to my personal Yahoo email account.

As soon as I left the shop I lost all the sent items from my Yahoo account AND it also sent spam to everyone in my address book.

So now I'm a viagra dealer and everyone I know past and present will have an offer from me.

This is a serious breach of privacy by o2 and will not be tolerated.

It was merely a coincidence your account was stolen at the time you took out an o2 contract. but it was nothing more than a coincidence, o2 do not have access to your yahoo password.

I must admit that I find it hard to believe that this could be tied to O2.

I have seen a big increase in the amount of Viagra ads in my junk mail folder in the past few weeks, all through my Yahoo email address which O2 hasn't even heard of.

Coincidence maybe? Let's hope so.

I'm not saying that someone at o2 has used my email address to access my account. I'm aware that it takes more than that to do this kind of damage.

What I am saying is that as soon as the guy in the o2 store confirmed all my details on his computer screen and clicked OK (or whatever he had to click to authorise my contract) it happened instantly - within seconds.

There is no way that at the exact same time I got a new phone contract, someone else hacked my account. What are the odds?

I have two other email accounts but I gave the Yahoo address as my billing address to o2.

I have to credit Yahoo though. They have reacted very quickly and restored my sent items, although I'm still getting error messages and people saying they've been spammed by me.

They're looking into it.

I have to laugh at the audacity of this lot. I called the 02 store where it happened, called head office, sent various emails to various departments - each time demanding they call me.

I got an email saying "sorry but our preferred method of contact is email but you can call us on the following numbers" lol. How pathetic. They are a phone company. A few years ago they were BT Cellnet.
