Just seen on the news O2 + Virgin merger approved.
Thoughts?

I think it’ll benefit Virgin more than O2 as now they won’t have to pay for mobile wholesale access.

When you look at the details though it appears they’re suited to one another as O2 gets the fibre aspect of Virgin (a front which Telefónica has been poor in Europe).

Makes sense business wise but for consumers it’ll probably lead to higher prices (unless everything is bundled together i.e tv/broadband/mobile etc)

Will keep an eye on prices.
But nothing will change this year as it will have to go through competition watchdog for review. And that's after the negotiations over who is buying who and how much for.
The only forum I have used that is worse than this is the VM one though so not hopeful on that front!

Edit: Worse on the user aspect, not the people I should hurridly point out!
