We run various deals and offers year-round, not just at the Christmas and New Year period. Due to a generally higher volume of sales for the retail sector over the festive period than the rest of the year, it allows us to offer deals like these for a limited time.

Just found out the OnePlus trade-back value of my almost 2-year old OP3T is £40. And O2's price for the 6T will doubtless be a bit above list, like it was for my 3T. I guess a phone as good as the OP6T needs no offers, it'll be flying off the metaphorical shelves from O2 Shops and Web sales warehouse...

Off to inspect the list a little more closely, my upgrade date is early January 2019.

Looks like it might have to be. My 3T was not on sale, it was just about the right amount for my available budget, over 24months, with a 3GB tariff and unlimited minutes and texts and a bit of Airtime discount through a (now discontinued) O2 Open discount.

I may have a look at the Huawei P20 Pro...

I think they did something last year @pgn.

I upgraded my sim only tariff for a ridiculously low price. 50% off for the first 6 months.

Not sure about phones though?

Just looked at trading in the "free Huawei T3-8" with O2 Recycle, and It valued at £10.00 .... lol just shows how much it is really valued.

I ordered the P20 Pro a few months ago, taking up the offer of the early upgrade. Wish I'd waited now LOL

Having said that, I did get a £100 off the upfront cost of the phone meaning I essentially got it for £10 with the contract

Black Friday is a psychological con. The price reductions are no different to sales throughout the year.In fact, if you go back 6 months with some retailers, the prices were cheaper in sales then than they are for Black Friday. The only difference being the sheer number of items in sales on Black Friday. You're better off waiting unless you see something you really NEED (not want).
