Does O2 have USA Phone numbers?

I live in the U.S. I spend 5 months in the UK and 7 in the U.S. I have an O2 mobile phone and use it in both countries. But its hard to get my U.S. Neighbour to call me using a UK phone number when he lives a mile away from my U.S. house.

Why won't they ring you.

Speak to one another using skype etc as an example.

I don't have a smartphone for SKYPE. I spent all my money on airfair to get to the UK and return.

Then use MI5's suggestion and use a local SIM card.

If your phone is unlocked to all networks.

You need to do as MI5 suggests and get a US sim for when you're in the US. I go back and forth and when I'm in the US I use a T-Mobile Pay & Go sim in my phone. As long as I top up once a year I can keep the same phone number. If you're using the O2 sim when you're in the US you must be paying way too much in roaming charges.

If you have a phone that you bought here from O2 you must make sure you get it unlocked if it isn't already. You will then be able to pop a US sim in the phone when you go over. You can try an AT&T sim as well if you don't like T-Mobile, but from my personal experience, T-Mobile's coverage is pretty good, and I travel to a lot of places in the US.

I have a T-Mobile sim currently and use their service in the US. But I need to wait another 6 months for O2 to unlock my phone. Just thought that if O2 had US numbers I could stay with one vendor.

If you have a T-Mobile sim for the US then you must be using a different phone, if your O2 phone is still locked. O2 only partners with certain US carriers, and they do the same here.
