How to report malicious intimidation text?

I’ve received an abusive threatening text from my ex husband’s new female! He must have given her my number. Goodness knows why.
It’s quite vile and full of venom.
I really want to report this. Is there anywhere online?

O2 have a system for reporting nusance calls and texts here

You should also report it to the police.

You could also block her number, or if so inclined, change yours. O2 will allow you one free change of number.

@sweet_pea I agree that you should block the number and report it to the police. Hopefully you've kept the text. Otherwise it's just your word against the other person.

Thanks. I’ve blocked the number and kept the text along with online screen shots from Facebook.
It’s really starting to upset me and she’s just getting worse.

You should report it to the Police.

However in your shoes I’d be inclined to change my phone number, email address , Twitter and Facebook accounts as well.

I’m dealing with a similar case at work and the only way you can stop these people is to cut off the ‘oxygen’ that’s feeding their behaviour.

Of course you might wonder why you have to do that but if you dont’ they will get at you if they’re determined...court order or no court order.

If they can’t contact you they eventually give up.

Besides doing everything we all advised above, you should also have a word (via text or email) with your ex husband and inform him of your intention to report her to O2 and the police (and do both)

If he has anything about him, he should be putting a stop to this vile abuse.

A lot of this does depend on the relationship she has in anyway, shape or form with her ex.

Sadly I don’t think we’re talking about rational and reasonable decisions here.

Attempted contact with the ex might even make the situation worse.

It might, though only @sweet_pea knows anything about the relationship.

If it was to make is worse then she shouldn't do it. Though I know from personal experience that a threat of the police, often works wonders.

Either way, all the information needed has been given to the OP. Reporting it via O2, Talking to the police, blocking the number or even changing the number should put a stop to it...eventually.

Any abusive comments on FB should also be reported to FB and the police.
