O2 Travel Bolt On at £7 confusion

Will be in USA for 6 days and planning to use this bolt on. I understand charge per day only applies if I use it on the day. Does "use" only apply to calls & Text or any data as well. I guess data will always be used as I have a number of apps including mail and WhatsApp. This would mean £7 a day anyway I think. Clarification will be appreciated.

If your data use is via a roaming cellular network, yes - chargeable, @Sujit.

If via "free" WiFi in a hotel or restaurant, then no. You posted on Pay As You Go, so if you have no 4G calling, things won't work - including O2 Travel:

You may find buying a local SIM for data and using WhatsApp is a better way to go, if your contacts all use WhatsApp.

Foreign network Travel SIMs can be purchased from the likes of Amazon before you go, then activated upon arrival in USA.
