When I try to top up my account with £10, my card is rejected almost immediately. I tried cards from 4 different banks and still the same thing....

You'll have to go to an O2 store, or any outlet (corner store, filling station, local convenience store) that displays this logo:

Our local Eurospar, Spar, Centra, Alldays, etc here all offer this service. You then call 4444 to apply the voucher to your phone. Good luck!
