Roaming Charges and what settings to change?

i'm off abroad for a few days and don't want to come back to a big bill

so what setting do i need to change?

got a HTC One S

Make sure cell data is turned off and just use wifi for internet access. You need roaming on if you want to use calls and texts....

Also turn off voicemail before you go by dialling 1760.

another thing, will i need to phone O2 to say i'm going abroad?

i remember when i was with virgin i had to phone them up to switch it on

It is always advisable to call and check that international travel is enabled..... It saves a fight later when you return.....
