No esim but my phone keeps jumping between them

I have the galaxy S22+ and about a week ago I started to notice a new symbol popping up on my notification bar with a phone, signal and 2. I found out my phone now has an esim slot with none in as SIM card 1 and my physical SIM is sim 2. Now when I'm on a phone call the symbol will disappear and re appear every few seconds and each time it does I can't hear the other person / they can't hear me for a second. I've tried to make my physical SIM the only SIM and there is no esim so I need help please

So when you open SIM Manager in connections what do you see?

(1) no sim card,

(2) Sim 2 O2 (my phone number)

I would move the SIM to SIM 1 which is the main slot. 2 is the switchable slot between plastic and eSIM then make sure the slider for 2 is turned off
