Currently on Contract, once it ends what are my options?

Hi, so I got the Samsung S5 on a 24-month contract deal, now when it gets to around the 22nd May 2017 that will be the end of the contract.

This is my first time having a contract phone so I'm still unsure on what my options will be at that point besides just straight up upgrading.

Is it possible for me to end the contract once its complete and simply switch to a pay as you go sim and pop it into my current S5?

Or is that something I'm unable to do?

Alternatively what other options will be available to me?

You can end completely and move networks (taking your number with you if you wish)

You can stay on your current agreement which just carries on month by month (if you're on refresh you will see a cost reduction as your handset will be paid off)

You can switch to pay as you go (again keeping number)

Or you can move to a 30 day or 12 month SIM only plan

Whichever you choose you'll need to speak with O2 customer service to action it

Okay, thanks for the quick response. I wasn't 100% sure so wanted to get confirmation
