No, the link is to the soft power down,
For battery disconnection, as @MI5 says there is a rectangular button in sim slot, you press it until you feel 3 quick vibrations and it will force a reboot.

hi.. m2 has a Non-removable battery.. take the phone to an 02 shop to be looked at

We know it has a non removable battery @Anonymous. The advice given in this thread shows the op how to force a reboot on the unresponsive phone.

And what would they do?

If you read the majority of the replies you would see we discussed the master reset button which is approximately 10 seconds of time as opposed to the few hours and cost of going into an O2 store where they will probably tell the op it's nackered and they need a new one.
