Just wondering what the criteria is for upgrades dropping onto the phones. Reports are showing some with Samsung s6 have received the software upgrade. The majority of people haven't. Any idea of the hold up. I'm impatient when it comes to these sort of things 😁

Hi @Anonymous It is usually down to the networks. They have to do their own testing so it delays some updates....

Must be down to series numbers. Lots on o2 have received it but my poor old s6 on o2 is craving for it but no sign on the horizon.

Correct....It is down to the serial number of your phone.

My serial number must be way down in the pecking order. 8 days In to release and still nothing.

Vodafone released it two weeks ago now!!

It's getting pretty farcical but I have my suspicions that it will drop in on the majority when the s7 pre orders can be no more. Either way it's pretty shocking service saying some have had it nearly 2 weeks now. Sick of waiting. My nexus tablet although yeah it's linked with android has it for months.

Any Nexus device will obviously get updates first.
All others require manufacturer dev time and network adjustments where applicable.

That's why I said that my nexus was linked with Google. I used to work for a major retailer on the technical side so I'm aware of how it works to some extent but for something to have been released for 12 days and not everyone has it yet is getting close to ludicrous. The power of android will reach s6 via o2 only after the promotion of the s7 has died down. Maximise sales in the new venture before upgrading the old. That's how it works.

i'm still waiting on the update, personally... my serial number must *really* be down the pecking order this time...

when the 5.X updates came out i almost always got them early on.

My other half got his yesterday though he didn't get his S6 from O2. It is a 'generic' sim free model. I doubt you will have to wait much longer @Anonymous. I hope not anyway...

All UK updates for generic and O2 phones have been released, so everyone should get it any time now.

I rang o2 and they told me that a few days ago. I wait in vain.....it's made a significant improvement to my nexus tablet. Increase in speed and what it allows you to block on terms of what app can get access to what.
