topic Samsung Galaxy S4 losing connection in Android

Quite a few times recently my phone has lost data connection while I've been on the mobile network. This usually happens when I've been on a wifi connection (at home or work), then gone out. Sometimes it will pick up a signal then drop it again. This keeps happening until I restart the phone, then it is ok and connects to the network without a problem.

At first I thought it was the 'smart network' switch as things improved after I turned it off. However, I'm still getting the problem. It's a pain to have to keep rebooting it, as it used to work ok. I've had it nearly a year and it has only been doing this for the last few weeks.

Try a new sim card first (just pop into any O2 shop and they'll do it for you) but if that doesn't help it may need to go in for a repair.
If so, contact Samsung rather than O2.
