Wife had Xperia M2 and because we live in rural area can only get 2g. After loads of problems she installed tugo and is managing to cope. Have just upgrade my windows phone to a Xperia e4g and I am on Tesco mobile and cannot even get 2g. I know Tesco uses o2 and that I cannot use the tugo on my phone but I was wondering if this new phone is not compatible with 2g or O2. It takes at least 30 mins to text my wife in the same house. I am thinking of returning the phone and paying off my contract and moving to O2 if there is no problem with this type of phone or android kit kat. An y views. Thanks

There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to get 2g but some phones do handle signals differently.
It may also be faulty.
Ask them in store to test it for you.

Hi had a juggle around with the phone settings and deleted any reference to 4g. Get about one or two signal bars if I walk around the house so I suppose this is what I've got without tugo or swapping to vodaphone sure signal. I know the took 3 hours before she received someone's text until she used tugo. Seen on a previous thread somewhere that android kit kat was not compatible with o2/4g so I don't know what that was all about.

Will see what the next couple of days bring. Thanks

Not sure that O2 4G not being compatible with Kit Kat is correct. I have a Note 3 with O2 and can get 4g wherever it is available
