Settings >More >Networks >Access Point Names and delete any apn's listed. (Might be described slightly differently depending on firmware), but, this will stop all data access completely.

I have a Motorola moto G 4G on 02.recently 02 sent me the wap setting's of which i didn't request, not thinking i just ticked install as i was outside at the time.now i have a very anoying Letter H on the top of my screen with a white line through it.my 02 web is closed...and yet its still on the screen.I've been onto 02's customer service who don't know there arse from there elbow...and its still on.i've reset the phone, had the sim card in and out...and yet its still there.

Any ideas ?

Just go into settings >more >mobile networks >access point names and reset them to default.
BTW, the phone will always display the network connection whilst mobile data is turned on so to get rid of the signal indicator, turn off mobile data, also in settings.

Data is 100% off.i wouldn't pay £1 per day for data anyhow.its a capital H with a white line in it.i've been on the live/chat like 45 times and these call centres in India don't have a clue.had this problem like 3 years ago, chatted to a guy based in the UK online and he turned it off within the hour.why can't 02 just do this?.

I don't think any of us actually know what the symbol means - I've never seen a data signal with a line through it, hence asking for a screenshot.
I'm not actually sure it is a data signal as it would not show with data off unless for some reason Motorola strike a line through the symbol in those circumstances.
