Hi, you need to change your settings. Unfortunately 2020 settings request will not work for the S3, so unfortunately you will have to do all this manually... Let me know if you want the mms also, as that also needs changing

Please ensure that when entering O2 into the settings that the letter O is selected and not a zero.

When entering the following information do not press Save until told to in the instructions.

Tap Apps
Tap Settings
Tap More settings
Tap Mobile networks
Make sure that Use packet data box has a tick in it (tap box to change)
Tap Access Point Names
Tap the Menu soft key
Tap New APN
Tap Name and enter O2 Mobile Web then tap OK
Tap APN and enter mobile.o2.co.uk then tap OK
Leave Proxy as Not set
Leave Port as Not set
Tap Username and enter o2web then tap OK
Tap Password and enter password then tap OK
Leave Server as Not set
Leave MMSC as Not set
Leave MMS proxy as Not set
Leave MMS port as Not set
Tap MCC and enter 234 then tap OK
Tap MNC and enter 10 then tap OK
Tap Authentication type and tap PAP
Tap APN type and and enter default,supl then tap OK
Leave APN protocol as IPv4
Leave Enable/disable APN as ticked
Leave Bearer as Unspecified
Tap the Menu soft key
Tap Save
Tap the circle next to the new profile so a green dot appears in it
Press the Back key four times to return to the main menu.

What To Do Next:

Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.

The settings are now complete.

Leave APN protocol as IPv4
Leave Enable/disable APN as ticked
Leave Bearer as Unspecified
Tap the Menu soft key
Tap Save
Press the Back key four times to return to the main menu.

What To Do Next:

Be aware that sending photos using MMS can get very expensive. Using email or WhatsApp to name but two, are less expensive alternatives, as in free....

Yes 40p a message....much better and cheaper ways as advised by @Bambino not to mention Line, Messanger, Viber, Tango etc.

No excuse for mms charges in this age, understandable when it was introduced but even then texts were 12p with zero allowance.
Nowadays texts are all free but the good old mms has actually increased in cost to the consumer while the tech that powers it is as old as 256k modems.

I just change on O2 and I've got Samsung S3 as well, and i did the set up manually as you said, but still it doesn't work. Any suggestion ?

Are you connected to wifi at the moment? If so the phone would not show any of the gsm data symbols.

In order to advise what data network you are on you need to turn wifi off for a minute or two please then let us know what data network you are on.
