Being less savvy with mobile devices than I am with PC's, I am extremely please with my new phone. For the price of £29.99 it is very good value and overall user friendly. There is one obvious shortfall and that is it does not always respond to touch or is very slow. More often than not when you turn it on you end up with the camera, or have to turn it on again. The swipe left or right to activate the device rarely responds otherwise.

Answering the phone also is not instantly obvious and it took me six attempts and a search on the internet, before I mastered this. The young person phoning me thought I was an old fool, as like most young folk he has used smart phones for some time. We discussed it on Facebook, which did not help either. Later that night when we met up I suggested he phone me and then answer my phone, it took him three attempts, so felt slightly less old! You have a lock in the centre of the screen which you have to drag across to the image of the green phone. This I gather is not a common feature, and from what I can see not on every Huawei phone either.

For people who are less familiar with smart phones this is (as it states) a good intermediary transitional device. It is easy to understand and operate, by connecting to your google account, you can update all your contact details automatically. In fact I updated all my Outlook contacts added LinkedIn and Facebook saved these and then updated my google account, which then automatically updates my phone. No need to worry about losing your contacts again, and not only do you get those phone contacts, but people you contact via email or in other ways. Far more advanced than I had thought possible, after years of using a basic Nokia.

With the addition of a memory card the storage capacity is excellent. Setting up the phone is easy. I find I need earphones to as the volume every when maxed is not loud enough for me, but with earphone it is perfect and has to be turned down.

I have watch YouTube and it works well and with 4G coverage included with my £15 a month bundle very good value for money as a Pay as You Go device. It competes well with contract phones and offers me sufficient for my monthly requirements.

I've used the Y300 in the past and felt that it was very good value for money and build quality is very good.
My 8 year old now uses it and hasn't managed to destroy it yet so it must be good

Sounds like a great value for money phone,
And dragging the ring to the green phone symbol is a personal annoyance of mine, had a htc on windows os years ago and to answer you had to do same, it was not very forgiving.

Many people make the transition from a basic phone to a smart phone and it can be a steep learning curve. This phone sounds like an ideal first step without breaking the bank.
