hi all,

I have just got my friend a Xperia M2 for Christmas.

The phone is amazing for the price but the camera is very poor quality compared to other 8MP phone cameras.
Does anyone know why this could be or if there is s way to improve it?

Regards TIA.

Hi

I have just read a review on this camera and it says it is fine for low to mid level range.

Not sure if it can be improved as you suggest.....This is the review I am talking about

http://www.trustedreviews.com/sony-xperia-m2-review-camera-page-3

It's quite typical of all mid range phone cameras.....
You'll probably find it acceptable outdoors in good light but anything else is a bit hit and miss.

Hello luke, first off, forget "superior" auto, it's cack on Sony mid range shooters. Set to manual and then hit the settings tab. Set resolution to 8mp and go back, then set iso to auto and metering to "spot"
Also (if available) set stabilisation to off, it uses too much processing that is better used in the sharpening, if you find it hard keeping it still switch it back on but if you do have a steady hand it's far better off.
These settings should get you better results.

Hi luke300586

You could also try other Camera Apps to test them out.

Sometimes these are better than Stock Apps.
