Shop is the easiest and quickest method but a call to CS on 202 will get them to send you one in the post.

Hi,
I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace style for my mum as a present. She currently has a ye olde Samsung that has a standard SIM card. I think the Galaxy needs a micro SIM and the lady in the shop took my mums phone number then said I needed to bring her old SIM into the shop to transfer it.
I didn't get a new SIM with the phone.
Is there any other way of getting a new micro SIM for her with the same number without having to take her card into the shop?
Tried looking on O2 help but it just seems to be about transferring your number when you already have a new SIM.
Feel like I've bought her a phone that she can't use because her SIM won't fit!
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
Mel

If they send you one in the post, which you obviously won't now get until after Christmas, you can do the swap to the new sim online yourself: http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

One other option is to take the old sim to a mobile repair shop or market stall and ask them to cut it to the size required.
Although overall I would recommend going to an o2 shop for a replacement.

My choice would be the O2 store. Much quicker and easier.

Go to your local O2 store, ask them for a micro sim, they should perform the sim swap there for you. Btw it can take up to 24 hours to activate the new sim but usually it is done within the first couple of hours

If you look online you can purchase a metal punch device for about £15 that cuts standard sims to micro and nano. Well worth buying because you'll never have to worry about it ever again, and you can cut down all your mate's sims too, (assuming that they want you to, that is, don't just cut them down for the sake of it 🙂 ). And when you do cut them, SAVE the little chad, or piece of plastic that gets cut off, because if you keep it in one piece you can use it as an adaptor to make, (the same or different), micro sim back in to a normal sim. I even took one of the cutters abroad, and impressed the woman in the phone shop, who'd never seen one before 🙂
