If possible, remove battery immediately, then dry any fluid off the outside of the phone before putting it into a bag of rice, sealed, and put the bag in an airing cupboard or on top of a radiator.
Leave it for at least a week before attempting to turn it back on.
Did the tea have sugar in it?

Keep in warm place like an airing cupboard whilst submerged in dry rice which may dry it out.

Other than that, trying praying and keeping everything crossed!

Good luck

Turn it off, if it was on, or don't turn it on if it was off. It's most likely you don't have a working phone any more. Some insurance policies cover water damage, but not many. What phone is it? Do you have insurance? You can try the rice method, but don't count on it solving the problem.

When I dropped mine in a sink full of water...took the back off...battery out, sim out and stuck it in front of a central heating vent.....I then went and ordered a new cheap one from Amazon.. The following day having no hope at all... I put my 'water damaged' one back together...and it worked (and still does)

Mind you...it wasn't a smartphone.... just a Motorola Razr.....

The new phone I returned to Amazon....
