Try the tech lead to purchase lol

Hi,

Thanks to try the text I decided I needed to get back into the Android game. Today I saw a Nexus 7 32GB for £149 so I bought one. I am currently rocking the following, diverse, set up.

Macbook Pro

Nexus 7 32GB

Nokia Lumia 1520

I adhere to no sponcer lol.

I've not been in the Android games for a few years, any app tips?

Ref apps.

As I've said before their are good useful ones , eye candy and dross.

I'd suggest one of the anti virus ones such as AVG to start off with.

It's then down to what interests you.

Avast is rated the number one anti-virus app for Android. You should also think about using Malwarebytes. The rest is personal choice for your needs.

I use Mawarebytes although in conjunction with Lookout. Peace of mind.

Thanks for all the tips. Feels nice to have a piece of tech in each "ecosystem"

The big question is, can the Nexus X/6 make me more away from WP8??

I personally use kaspersky internet security and it has a very good call and text blocking part to the app

I've never seen the need for any AV on my phones, but do whatever makes you comfortable......

When I'm trying out an android os device for O2 I do just as a precaution as it's not Mine.

On my iPhone I don't.

Hi Toby

After trialing the Lumia 1020 I've purchased the Lumia 520

After trailing the Sony Xperia Z my colleague upgraded to the Z1 after having a play with the Z.

My colleague played with my HTC One Mini ,and went into upgrade to the HTC One M8

My daughter in law is very interested in the Note 3 after playing with it for a couple of hours (currently has iphone 5) so come November maybe a change?

And my choice of a Note 3 next time round is due to me needing a bigger screen and the fact it has been highly recommended by others on here...

It may be a phone that exceeds any usage I will give it...but it provides me with 'street cred' with my sons ...

Well you have ruined it for me. I put the Xperia Z Ultra down and went back to my Lumia 1520 for a day....... I'm bored already.

Considering getting a Nexus 5 and selling my beloved Lumia 😞 I would only get a Nexus phone so I get the updates straight away..
