I am thinking about getting one of these SIM free. Seems it has very good reviews.
Two questions:

Battery is non-removeable. How much of a problem is this? If the battery should need replacing, maybe after it gets knackered like my current phone battery is after nearly 3 years, can it be sensibly done without costing and arm and a leg?
No micro SD facility. I store very little music on my phone, but have about 170 photos taken with the present Samsung. And documents that get downloaded from interenet from Is the Motorola's internal memory (I would get the 16Gb version) sufficient.

Hi.

Possibly looking at £50+ to have a battery replaced.

I use 16gb versions of the iPhone and iPad and also use facilities such as drop box which give an extra free 2gb of storage free or you can buy more.

Out of the 16gb I have around 7gb still free.

I've previously had a 16gb Nexus 4 and now have an HTC One (32gb).... Since the nexus I learnt to keep everything cloud based, so all my pics, vids, docs etc are on Dropbox and G+.
Checking my phone I have used 6gb (this is including the OS) so most of the storage space is just redundant.
Once you get the hang of cloud storage you'll wonder why you didn't use it before. Plus points are security, unlimited storage potential and access from anywhere on any device. Only real minus point is that you need wifi for streaming music or downloading large files.
As for the battery, I've never had the need to change one as I tend to get through phones quicker than they wear out but I can't imagine it would be a fortune to replace one and most likely a DIY job on most phones.

Just looked online and it is £19.99 to replace an HTC One battery at a known reputable repair shop

I too have recently started using Dropbox. Previously I would remove things I wanted to keep (but not necessarily on the phone) and put them on to my laptop which is then subsequently backed up.

I also use Dropbox for some things in addition to other Cloud services, but you can also use a Wireless Card Reader eg http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Memory-Card-Readers/Kingston/Kingston-MobileLite-Wireless-Memory-Card-Reader or OTG to add storage http://www.mymemory.co.uk/OTG-Micro-USB/SanDisk/SanDisk-64GB-Ultra-Dual-OTG-Micro-USB-Flash-Drive.

I would say that 16gb would be loads for what you use it for as for the battery I wouldn't have thought it would be very expensive you may even be able to do it yourself

Must admit even on my current phone I tend to Bluetooth pics over to my PC as I usually want to see pics on a full size screen. Never tried Dropbox though I certainly heard of it.

I guess after maybe 2-3 years £50 would be (is) too much and best put towards a new phone.

Dropbox is very good but I would suggest watch your settings. It can be set to auto upload either via gsm or wifi or both. When I set it up it used over 1.5gb (I had a lot of photos) but I did most of it over wifi.

Otherwise you get 2gb free and it is possible to get a further 48gb free if you follow the instructions.

I think I might have tried Dropbox on the PC before but must have cancelled the account as the details no longer work. Is there any point signing up again on the PC? To experiment? The Android app is incompatible with my old device.

FYI, Google Drive offers 15GB of free cloud storage. Amazon offers 5GB free.
