Who uses a phone case/rear cover on there smartphone?

What phone do you guys think is the best made/protected from scratches?

with top of the range smart phones around £500+ people would be silly not to use some sort of cover for protection. I. se a simple leather folding wallet type picked up on Amazon for around a tenner.

I use a case for two reasons.

As MI5 {edit : as jonsie}says these things are ubra expensive so anything that stops it marking up and gives a level of protection is Ok , unless you have something like Apple Care + which you can use to swap the handset but even then its only twice at £55 excess fee each time.

The second reason is that a case for me adds some grip to what can be a slippery to hold handset.

And some cases add character to the phone.

I use the Apple Leather case for my 5s.

Zagg do very good body shields for most phones.

I've got an iPhone and am using a leather flip case, paid £8 for it.

Keeps the back and front of my phone covered.

I can't imagine using my phone without some sort of protection.

I paid £15 in O2 Shop in Meadowhall for a good case a few months back.

Screen still gets dirty from finger marks and stuff, but it hasn't broke on me, yet.

I used hard plastic for S2, which made it bigger but protect from cover damage and from dust for £5. Using screen foil 10x for £1.50. Know that the screen has gorila glass but for better feeling. Phone was faling a lot and still worked OK without any scratches until been drove over :-(. S3 same plastic cover. S4 Flip case with credit card pockets. If you want sell your phone or want just have it in good condition look for some on ebay.

I absolutely hate the cases. They look ugly as hell and spoil the overall effect of the phone.

Well considering I have an uncanny ability to drop practically every phone I have, a case is a must even to minimise the potential damage. This Nexus 4 of mine would have no doubt be sporting several cracks if I didn't have a flip case.

Though to be honest, most phones have relatively the same look these days so there is no real need to show it off. There are very few phones these days that you can easily replace the casing with.

That and it does reduce the risk of having someone spotting you've got an expensive phone and mugging you for it by disguising it!

Once bought S1 which never had protecting case and I was sadly surprised of amount dust under cover round battery and sim. Also m cleaning fone by anti bacterial wipes daily. As was tested on the fone has more bacteries than toilet seat on it. 😞

I generally use a flip case especially after scratching the glass on my HD2 two days in placing it face down on a desk with sand particles on it

With the Note 2 I use the flip cover which fits in place of the normal back cover, and for the iPhone 4S I use a flip battery case which I picked up for £9.99 on sale.

Hi,

For me a case is an essential piece of kit, but I always like to get something which compliments the original lines of the device. With my S2 being so sleek I managed to get a skin-type case which was great and added virtually no size.

For the Note 3 I now have I've got a Spigen hybrid wotsit. For £20 I really cannot believe the graftsmanship and perfection (but of course it's factory made). It has a snug rubber surround with a coloured plastic perimeter add-on - and buttons which press on the phone's own ones. It means I can rest easy. It does add a little length to the Note 3 but being a phablet it's not noticeable.

Perhaps I digress but get a case of some kind for any device. Hindsight says we only need one after we've dropped a phone and I can't stand to see all those beautiful devices with corners blemished or missing. I'd rather get a new case each year than sit and sulk that I dropped my pride and joy.
