just wondered if anybody knows when the update is coming for galaxy s3 it says its been launched on numerous sites but yet nothing

4.3 is released for unbranded UK handsets - No idea when O2 will release their's though.....

Unlocked phones with Samsung's own firmware, ie not network branded.

so i guess its just a waiting game then seems as if samsung is last to get everything should be first the hype that surrounds them

If the first thing you see is the O2 splash screen when you turn your phone on, your phone is branded.

Not sure if you are following, but Samsung have released it. We are now waiting for O2.

Seriously I would think twice before installing it, my phone has been wrecked by it. Unresponsive, laggy. battery life feels halved. Sometimes the phone won't "wake" from the screen being off and when it does the lag between pressing home or power can be four to six seconds.

I got my phone from the o2 shop but im sure it doesnt show the o2 splash screen, just the Samsung one. Would have thought a phone bought from an o2 shop would be o2 branded?

Mostly, but not always - It depends on stock at the time.... We see a few people who get phones as soon as they are released with unbranded software on them due to the fact O2 didn't have time to get their stuff installed.

I only got the s3 about 6 months ago. What stuff do o2 add to the phone? Will check see if i have any of it on, just incase i missed the splash screen

And im guessing unbranded or not, you're still at the mercy of o2 for the update?

Just dial *#1234# and tell me what it says....
If you are unbranded you get updates direct from Samsung, if not you have to wait (ages) for O2.

It should actually be i9300o2uemc1 but I'm sure it was just a typo

ha probably not. Hard to tell if they have pulled it or not. Seems the rumours are only coming from one site saying after the phone prompted them to update, checking later the update wasnt there. May have been busy servers, who knows

Either way im not installing it yet if i get the prompt
