It's ridiculous that we have these type of delays especially for a top end phone like this.

O2 please sort this out, I can root my phone a chuck a custom 4.3 ROM on it if I so wish but I don't want to invalidate my warranty if anything goes wrong with the phone.

Ahh yes sorry! Just a shame really. So HTC are releasing the update to providers next week, correct? No idea how long it will take O2 play around with it and get it ready for us.

I wonder how long it will take to get 4.4, but then again how long is a piece of string?

Yes according to the latest reports it should be released to the networks soon for them to add their apps and do testing..... After that, who knows??
Hopefully O2 will get their finger out with it been a high profile update.....

Always advisable to do a factory reset after a major update. Make sure you have backed up your phone first.

From O2 mate and its def O2 branded. Not often networks push out the updates so fast ( I worked for O2 and Orange for 5 years) and never see this happen.

The big question when it comes to HTC devices is likely to be 'Will the HTC One get Android 4.4 KitKat?'

The good news is that HTC America's CEO, Jason Mackenzie has confirmed that the One, One Max and One Mini will all be treated to the KitKat update.

So when will the update be landing? Well a HTC spokesperson has told TechRadar: "Across EMEA, HTC will work with local carriers to begin the roll-out of Android 4.4 with Sense 5.5 for the HTC One from end of January."

A recent HTC One Tweet re-iterated this, so it still looks like you'll have to wait until the New Year's celebrations are a quiet memory before getting your hands on the new update.

The Google Play edition of the One looks set to stay on schedule soon too, as HTC has apparently received the necessary software to push it out.

"The Google Play edition will start to receive the update earlier, starting from the end of November. Details regarding the HTC One max and the HTC One mini will follow."

We'll also soon see if any of HTC's older devices, such as the HTC One Xand One X+, will get KitKat too.

Seems like most if not all have received the 4.3 update but I have HTC One Mini brought from Carphonewarehouse and still not received notification that it is ready for download. 4.3 is required for Miracast to work on mirroring to TV. When will it come to me and others in my position?.
