No their is not im afraid.

If your getting nuisance calls then its best to try and answer and say nothing.

It's doubtful that you could find a number that was witheld. Possibly the only way might be if the police were involved because a crime was commited. Other than that, I don't know how you'd go about it.

Not at all, but some of us took the trouble to find out!

As I understand it this service may have legal implications and was closed down by Ofcom in July and there have been no posts to their Facebook or Twitter pages since then, so if it's running now I'm sure they and the UK police will have an interest.

The last message posted on the AmbushCall Facebook page was posted on June 24 and says:

'We're going through some technical issues! We should have this resolved straightaway. Please contact support@ambushcall.com with any queries or concerns.'

This company is not accepting new subscribers as they have been banned by Ofcom, I also found this post:

May 2012 – Present (1 year 6 months) New Jersey

AmbushCall is a prepaid service that allows mobile subscribers to reveal blocked, private, or withheld numbers that appear on their caller id. Subscribers can receive the unmasked information via email, SMS, or by unmasking the withheld number in real-time.........

Unfortunately, AmbushCall was recently informed by Ofcom (the UK’s Communications Regulatory Body) that the service is in violation of certain regulatory standards in the United Kingdom. At this time, AmbushCall is not accepting new subscribers until its legal investigation of Ofcom’s ruling is complete.

I know, there is another app called TrapCall that claims to do the same thing and it's barred to me from the Google Play store, so they must be banned in the UK too.

I'm thinking they can leave their web site up as they can operate in the US.
